31::365 Desperation

Inner Light
There has been so much snow I'd prefer to hunker down and pray for daylight than trek out and look for things to photograph.  That said, in a moment of desperation, I looked up.  Who knew the inside of a light could be interesting?

30::365 Lazy Days

Another Time
It's best to try and take pictures early in the day.  Otherwise, it's a hunt around late at night trying to find something interesting in a house where I've seen everything.  It may only be a new perspective on the same old thing, but it counts.

27::365 Fascinated

Showcase
Everything is fascinating.  For at least a minute.  Likely only a minute.

26::365 Organization

Organized Reflection
I can't escape it.  A place for everything and everything in its place.  Even at work.  For an OCD type, the incessant need to organize passed me by.

25::365 Addiction

Lifeline
So dependent.  An entire life organized in the palm of your hand.  Family and friend communication, schedules, and playtime all wrapped up into one.  How did we function?  Did we function better?

24::365 Snow What?

Drifting
There has been 4 times more snow in the first month of winter this season than the average we usually have for an entire season.  And there's no chance it's stopping.  Joy.

23::365 Pure Joy

Snow Much Fun
Such a New Hampshire kid.  More snow equals more fun.

21::365 Bling!

Winter Bling
Though winter is harsh, if you look hard enough you'll find delicate beauty.  Sometimes it's right behind you.

20::365 Frosty

Ice Branches
Winter can be bitter, roads dangerous, and make you want to hunker down and pray for warmer weather.  But the morning after a storm, when the sun comes up and makes the snow covered landscape glitter, is so beautiful - when viewed from a warm place!

19::365 Drive By

Christmas at the Farm
I drive by Pinehurst Farm every day.  Something about the barn, with it's old (missing/broken) boards, calls out to me each time.  I've seen it in every season and have resisted photographing it, but couldn't pass up the newly fallen snow.

17::365 All Wrapped Up

All Wrapped Up
The towel came home when he was 9 months old.  It was big enough to wrap him several times around.  Now it hangs below his knees and his feet are clearly seen - no risk of tripping.  It's not going to grow with him much longer.

16::365 Powder Play

Powder Play
Sometimes a little fresh powder and a blue bird day are all you need to have a joyous day.

15::365 Signs of Life

Still Life
When the world is covered with snow, it's challenging to find any signs of life.  But if you look hard enough, you just might find them.

14::365 Early Life Lessons

Object Lesson
It teaches adults about how a vehicle will handle a crash.  It also makes a great toy for little ones with removable wheels and parts.  I suppose it's never too early to learn that driving too fast can wreck your ride.

13::365 Class Night

The Old Banjo
It's all about learning.  Tonight was about dramatic focus and risking photos in a public place...with a little replacement of their stuff.  Sometimes you know what you want and just have to figure out how to capture it.

12::365 Play Day

It's a snow day in New England.  Work that needs to be done, but have to take an occasional break for play because school is closed and there's energy to burn.  Can't wait for a break to build a snowman!

11::365 The Meaning of Love

The Meaning of Love
Love means proposing with a non-traditional ring because she said she said she'd wear a pipe cleaner if it meant being together.
Love means she meant it.
Love means she keeps the ring with her, even if she doesn't wear it.
Love means she knows having, remembering and living the love story will always be more important than what's on her finger.

10::365 Another Day in Paradise

Sign of Our Times
I drive by this sign most mornings.  With what is going on in our world today, I thought it appropriate to stop and capture the image.  And I wonder - was the writer trying to be ironic?  Because I think some people are following what was likely intended to be a joke.

9::365 Mirror Mirror

Mirror Image
Being a parent has many added benes - above and beyond the whole loving the kiddo thing.  Number one is having an excuse to be a kid again.  Whether it's yummy snacks you otherwise have no excuse to eat or playing with toys you just can't buy for yourself when you're older than about 10.  Don't let anyone tell you different.  Parenting rocks.

8::365 Firsts

First Pass
Being a parent means re-experiencing all the firsts.  All the exhilaration, fear, excitement, joy...one step removed.  But if you can't go back to believing you can fly, you can at least be the safety net during their discovery.

7::365 Quiet Beauty

Winter Buds
Nature is often stark and barren during winter.  Sometimes, though, if you look hard enough...you can find just a little bit of beauty.  Even if it is in a frozen sleep.

6::365 Cracked Open

Light Bright
I've been a purist for a long time.  But I also love technology and playing with new tools.  Sometimes you have to let go and play.

5::365 Intended for Everyday Use

Morning Fuel
Three a day.  Every day.  Can't be good for you, but my teeth haven't fallen out yet and I can't stand the smell of coffee.

4::365 A Bit of Sunshine

Pinch of Fun
If you aren't going to see the sun for days on end, between winter and living in a box from dawn to dusk, pretend.

3::365 Possibilities

My Only Vice
Years with a sweet tooth:  37
Number of cavities:  0
With those odds, I'm not going to turn down a cherry tootsie pop.  Just isn't going to happen.

2::365 Looking Out

Puddles
It's too easy to stay indoors in New England during the winter.  It's been unseasonably warm and the melting sun creates puddles in the driveway.  Perfect for causing a ruckus!

1::365 A day of rest...or not

Fist Bump
The first day of the new year...heading out to play.  Holding the camera away from me and my son, I wanted to capture us holding hands.  Instead, he wanted to do a fist bump.  Such a boy!
